2021 House of Delegates Candidate Testimonial

Good morning,

First, I would like to thank you for assisting me, reaching out to [REDACTED] and sharing your interview.

I have begun meeting with my local county committees and wow, I have been swamped! Working full time and having meetings until 10 or later each night has eaten up any time for returning a phone call. I wish I could express the gratitude for your direction as the local area has been extremely supportive and just amazing to work with!

I saw such diversity at the local Republican meetings that it has boosted my hopes for the Republican Party in the next 2 years. Many of the people are those leaving the Democrat Party in droves and offer greater opportunity to bring more voters into the Republican Party.

In regards to your interview, I enjoyed it immensely. I do believe you are correct that this is the time to unite the Republican Party. I agreed with many of your viewpoints and many others feel the same way. After listening to everything regarding the VA Project, I would like to do whatever I can to promote your cause. Every single person I have spoken with this past week has mentioned unity, fixing the Republican Party and standing together as a community.

Throughout my discussions, I have also realized that most people do not run because they have no idea where to begin. They do not fully understand civics nor the processes of elections. People have concerns about funding, time-management, and connections (the networking you are trying to create).

I would like to offer one correction, you stated for people to reach out to the County Convention. One of my larger lessons in working with people is that if you do not give exact terms for locating, they will give up when they cannot find what they are looking for.

With your assistance, I have learned that going directly to the local Republican Committees is where many will find any/all answers they need. For example, I have attended the [REDACTED], [REDACTED], and [REDACTED] Republican Meetings. I have also had the fortune to meet the Chair of the [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] (all areas encompassed in [REDACTED]) and will meet with those groups this week. So, I would suggest any potential candidate begin there. It will be time-consuming for anyone but, if they want to be a candidate it will definitely need a determined mindset.

After the current session ends, March 7th, they will need to contact their local GOP Delegate. The Delegate they contact can then begin walking them through and vetting each individual. During this time they would also need to file a Statement of Organization with the Dept. of Elections for VA. I can provide you a direct contact, [REDACTED], if you would like to use this information going forward.

While I am a year ahead, hopefully, other candidates will step up to the plate and begin getting in touch with their community. No one can file a candidate qualification form until January 2021 and will most likely need assistance with all the forms required; the local delegate can direct the potential candidate to the right people (political advisors, attorneys, etc.).

The convention would not come into play until April 2021, at which time each candidate will be voted for a primary for each district.

However, a person becoming involved this year can still go the Congressional District Meetings and begin networking. For example, I am working with candidate [REDACTED] running in the [REDACTED] Congressional District. This is just one viewpoint of growing my network while possibly obtaining endorsements, and the hope of unseating [REDACTED] is a bonus.

Anyone who begins now can create a massive network before the election year and can legally campaign while doing so if all forms are filed.

I whole-heartedly agree with you the many in our party have been complacent and individualistic but, I am also beginning to see unity.

I respect your project and am trying to spread the word in support. Now, if we can just get the people to stand up for the empty seats.

Have a wonderful day and let me know how I can further assist you.
